Enterprise Developement
As part of our “High Road Initiative”, Springbok Atlas Charter implements an ongoing programme of SETA-accredited driving training learnerships that enable unemployed people between the ages of 18 and 40 to gain the skills and licences for driving code 8 and code 10 vehicles. Whenever the opportunity arises, we look to recruit new drivers from this source of learners who now have marketable skills.
We are constantly looking for opportunities to support unemployed people in the establishment of their own small businesses. An example of this, is that at our Cape Town branch, we have enabled a group of women to run our environmentally-friendly eWASHA vehicle wash bays as their own business. Our Human Resources department has coached and mentored them through the processes of registering their own business, managing their finances, human resources and operations.
