UK Division Announcement
In 1988, when Springbok Atlas was called Springbok Atlas Safaris and the company logo was a turquoise and orange springbok head, Penny Geyser joined as Tours Manager. In those days there was no V & A Waterfront, the Mount Nelson was about the only 5* hotel in town and a game lodge in the Eastern Cape was a pipe dream.
Springbok Atlas was one of only a handful of inbound tour operators in those early days, with Riccardo Dell'Erba as CEO, Lew Rood the International Sales Manager, Paddy Vella the Financial Manager, and Richard Gebhardt joining later as Marketing Manager. With the assistance and support of such a well established team, Penny flourished, later becoming International Sales Manager and eventually Divisional Manager for UK and Ireland.
Penny is going on a well earned retirement from August, but will be sharing her invaluable wealth of knowledge and experience by consulting on special projects from time to time. Penny leaves the UK & Ireland Division in the very capable hands of Kim van der Westhuizen who has nine years experience in the travel industry and has been Penny's deputy for over 2 years. |
